Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to learn how to skydive?
For a tandem skydive<link to TDM page> there is very little instruction because you will be connected to an expert instructor who will perform most of the actions for your jump. Training for a tandem takes a half hour at most.
Do I need to make reservations to make a skydive?
Reservations aren't required but they are highly recommended as it is the only way to guarantee your slot. We require a $50 deposit per person, either money order, or any major credit card over the phone. See our pricing/reservation page<link to prices> for more information on reserving your spot.
Can we get one video for our whole group?
You would need to purchase separate videos for each skydive, It is impossible for a freefall camera flyer to be in more than one place at the same time — tandems are as much as a quarter mile apart in freefall!
How long will it take?
For tandem jumps, the whole process from the time you arrive to the time you usually only takes a few hours. However we tell people to budget at least half a day.
Where are you located?
Skydive Maryland is located in Ridgely Maryland at Ridgely Airpark. We are the only skydiving center in Maryland that serves the Baltimore, Washington, and Northern Virginia Region.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably and for the weather. Wear tennis shoes NO boots. Skydive Maryland will provide you with a jumpsuit, helmets, goggles, and the other necessary equipment.
